Shane Otto's backstory.

Shane Otto was born to a pair of wealthy parents somewhere in Springfield, Massachusetts. His mother went through a horrible stage of depression in Shane's early life, which eventually resulted in her taking her own life. After this, an unbreakable bond was forged between him and his father, and all the support his father his father gave in his teenage years led to him graduating from MIT with a master's in electrical engineering. For a while, engineering was his passion, it was the most enjoyable part of his life. But once again, tragedy had caught up to him, as a former friend of his father's killed his father and framed him of the atrocity. For the next few years, he spent his time in a correctional facility, and in doing so, formed a whole new opinion on life. He began to believe that in reality, everyone is prisoner to the way of life that we live today. But even with his new veiws on life, nothing could have prepared him for the horrifying day that awaited him. One day, Shane awoke in his cell to find there were no guards or prisoners in the building, and his cell door was wide open. Shane continued down the stairs and hallways leading toward the exit, accompanied by nothing but litter and blood stains. When he exited the prison, he nearly fell backward in shock. A citadel, in it's full terrifying form, dominated the skyline. Combine APCs roamed the streets like steel elephant herds, And CCA units rushed his way, quickly putting him into circulation. He spent his days in the misery of citizenship on occupied earth, but always stayed true to what he believed. He hadn't spent all that time in jail to be a prisoner again. Shane stared to hear rumors of the resistance, and with the legend of their heroic deeds fresh in his mind, he relocated again and again in order to find them. When he arrived in city 45, he accidentally stumbled upon the resistance. But just when it seemed nothing could go wrong, swarms of manhacks flooded the slums, giving Shane severe and permenat scars all over his body. But he still didn't quit. Shane continued to help the rebels until he was finally recruited. Now, with his past behind him and the future in his sights, Shane is willing to do whatever it takes to be free once more.
